Ramsay Snow was giddy. He strolled before the kneeling villagers, feeling them, smelling them. He pointed out his seven choices to his men. “Mother… Father… oh my, Warrior… Maiden…” Ramsay licked his lips, then continued. “Smith… Crone… Stranger.”
Bolton blackguards lifted the selected to their feet. “Let them pray! Then let us flay. Seven delightful reminders to anyone who dares resist us. As for the rest of you, you won’t have time to pray. You see, my hounds are rather restless, so I promised them we could play a little game…”
The Story
"Ramsay is a cunning and capable manipulator. He is particularly good at thinking on his feet, though less savvy when it comes to long-term consequences and intricate politics. He openly enjoys abusive practices such as having young women stripped naked and released into the Bolton forests, before hunting them with a pack of feral dogs."
This What If? scenario is part 1 of 3, which also includes the Siege Against the Faith at Casterly Rock and the Blockade of Lannisport, turning the Boltons westerlands excursion into a truly epic storyline. I really enjoy the Campaign of Thrones and I'm excited to bring it back, and one of the things I enjoy most about the campaign is trying to maintain a small amount of the narrative realism that GRRM instills in the main series. That is why I wanted to make the attempted takeover of the westerland to be more strategic than just besieging Casterly Rock, which in this case is mostly a diversion from the blockade of Lannisport and the attacks on neighbouring castles and villages. I hope to have all 3 battle reports done in the coming months.
