The fireplace smoked and crackled. Melisandre’s red eyes grew wide as she leaned toward the dancing flames. A skinless man screamed in agony as a castle tower crumbled to the ground. Shredded pink banners turned to dust. Spearwives gleefully dance amongst the rubble as the Bonelord played his lute.
The Story
"Glamors make the object of the magic appear differently to observers, although the object does not actually change its shape. Glamors are strongest when built on a particular object or body part belonging to the person which the illusion will resemble."
The idea for this scenario was born after creating The Mountain vs. The Wall. Timeline wise, the Baratheons should have been present for the battle against Gregor, but it would have really muddled the scenario. So where did they go? It was a lot of fun to think of all the different situations Stannis and his army could get into, but this felt the most natural. With Roose and Ramsay setting-up shop at Winterfell, the Dreadfort was ripe for the picking. I then took elements of Mance Rayder’s storyline from A Dance with Dragons and tried to make this What If? scenario as unique and challenging as possible.
Gameplay & Strategy
As the Baratheon Commander, your main concern will be the Followers of Bone. It’s a free unit, but it can betray you anytime you use it. Ensure that the Followers never claim an Objective or stay too long in your elite unit’s flanks or rear. The best use for them might be as front of the line cannon fodder. You will likely have to destroy one of the Castle Walls in order to get enough Victory Points to win, so pick one side and prepare to cut down the defenders of the Dreadfort.
This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
