Surrender of Moat Cailin

The diseased, decaying Greyjoy garrison at Moat Cailin waited helplessly for the return of Victarion Greyjoy, praying to the Drowned God to deliver favorable seas so that the Iron Captain could bring them home. All they had left was prayer. They prayed alone in their bedchambers, en masse, amongst the swamp water, from the top of the towers. Unbeknownst to them all, Victarion was sailing to the other side of the world with a red priest and dragon horn, giving little thought to the dying men who held the ruined northern stronghold.

One morning, the garrison saw an army approaching from the north. Emblazoned on their standard was a red flayed man on pale pink strewn with red drops. House Bolton had come. They should should have prayed for a quick death instead.

The Story

"Ramsay sends his servant "Reek", actually the traumatized Theon Greyjoy, to the castle "disguised" as Theon, the son of Lord Balon Greyjoy and the garrison's prince. Theon is to offer the garrison terms of surrender: if the ironborn lay down their weapons and come to the Bolton camp unarmed, Ramsay will feed them and send them home to the Iron Islands. Theon is nearly struck by a crannogman's arrow while traveling to the ruins; blood-blooms flourish among nearby corpses. Theon spots pale faces on the battlements of the Gatehouse Tower and along the broken masonry atop the Children's Tower."

Gameplay & Strategy

Similar to the Fall of Moat Cailin, this scenario adds in Corpse Piles to make things even more congested and difficult to navigate. Controlling the most Objective tokens is extra important in this scenario. Not only do you score Victory Points, but the player who Controls the most Objectives will get to rain arrows down on any enemy units that are with 6" of the towers. Move through the Bogs and Corpse Piles and get to the Objectives early, and this battle may be over quick. You probably want to bring 1 - 2 ranged units for both armies to nullify some of the terrain traffic jam.

Here is an awesome battle report from our friends at Le Bar à Théo:

This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
