It was the twenty-second day of the siege. Brynden Tully paced along the rampart. His nephew, Edmure, stood upon the Frey's poorly built gibbet, a soiled rope wrapped around his scabrous neck. The Blackfish wondered how long this mummer's farce would continue. Black Walder smirked. "Blackfish," he called out. "How does it feel that every time you take a piss you're reminded of your dead king? The failure of the North!"
The Blackfish shrugged. "How does it feel that every time you take a piss you're reminded of your tiny prick?"
The Frey camp broke into laughter. Lothar Frey snorted. "He got you today. You have to admit he got you. No shame losing one to the fabled Blackfish."
Black Walder huffed and gave Edmure a stiff kick to the leg. "A few extra hours of sunlight for Lord Edmure today. Hope he don't slip." Black Walder stormed back to his tent.
The Story
"The Freys are eventually joined by Lannister forces led by Jaime, who assumes command of the siege. Bronn, his right-hand man, orders for perimeter trenches to be dug, pickets to be set up, and to have the men work double-time on the siege towers. Jaime also orders the Freys to provide Edmure with a bath and a meal. When Black Walder protests, Jaime berates him for his incompetence in making threats he wasn't prepared to carry out, and strikes him, causing the Freys to fall into line."
Gameplay & Strategy
I decided to base the Siege of Riverrun around the TV version of the event, since more of those characters are currently available in the game. One of my favorite parts of playing these custom scenarios is getting to use the Character Attachments of all the amazing characters from the books and show that you may not use regularly when building an army list.
This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
