"Gone! Gone! Gone!" Mormont's raven cried. The bird was perched upon a truss, watching the madness below. Some mutineers chased Craster's daughter-wives while others attacked their former brothers. Blood pooled beneath the dead bodies of Craster and Jeor Mormont.
Small Paul grabbed a black pot and whipped it at the verbose bird. The raven didn't flinch as the pot sailed by. "Dumb bird!" Small Paul shouted.
"Dumb! Dumb! Dumb!" the raven answered. It flew out the door and into the haunted forest.
The Story
"Losing his temper when called a bastard, Craster vaults his table but has his throat slit by Dirk. Craster crashes face first across the wounded Ser Byam Flint and drowns in his own blood. Dirk shoves a knife under the chin of one of Craster's wives, demanding that she show them where the food is or he will kill her. Lord Commander Mormont tells Dirk to unhand her, but Garth of Greenaway blocks his path and Ollo Lophand stabs Jeor's belly."
Gameplay & Strategy
For this scenario, I decided to merge 2 separate events from the books: the mutiny at Craster's Keep and the eventual killing of a group of mutineers by Coldhands (whose flesh is then used to make a nice dinner for Bran, Jojen, and Meera). I usually don't merge events, but Coldhands is such a cool character/model and I can't think of many other opportunities where he can be used in a narrative scenario (at least until the Others are released as a faction). Coldhands is optional either way, so you can stick closer to the book by not adding him to your Night's Watch list.
This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
