King-Beyond-the-Wall

Mance sat atop the bluff, plucking his lute absent-mindedly. He scanned the battleground below, noting where his raiders could strike and retreat. They would have to hit the mammoths and giants quickly, then vanish quickly into the woods. He knew the proud Thenn warriors would taunt them to fight in the open, but he had no appetite to clash against their bronze armor.

Mance began to sing. "Ooooooh, I am the last of the giants, my people are gone from the earth. The last of the great mountain giants, who ruled all the world at my birth. Oh the smallfolk have stolen my forests, they’ve stolen my rivers and hills. And the’ve built a great wall through my valleys, and fished all the fish from my rills. In stone halls they burn their great fires, in stone halls they forge their sharp spears. Whilst I walk alone in the mountains, with no true companion but tears."

The Story

"Mance spent years gaining gathering various tribes into one host, seeking support from clan mothers and magnars. He made peace between Harma Dogshead and the Lord of Bones, the Hornfoots and the Nightrunners, and the men of the Frozen Shore and the ice-river clans. Opposed by five other would-be Kings-Beyond-the-Wall, Mance gained the support of Tormund of Ruddy Hall and Styr of Thenn and slew the three rivals who refused to submit."

This scenario was inspired by my talk with Chase from On the Table Gaming.

Gameplay & Strategy

The player using Styr will likely have a few Savage Giants and War Mammoths in their army list, so it would be wise for the Mance player to get some Trappers in his back lines protecting from those monster charges.

This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
