Invasion of the Riverlands

The farmer watched in silence as his livestock was slaughtered and hauled to the Lannister wagons. If he did not protest, perhaps they would spare him and his family.

The Lannister soldiers went silent. They were frightened, though none drew a sword or formed a battle line. The farmer turned and looked towards the tiny river. A giant of a man crossed the wooden bridge with several thugs following closely behind. Seven save us, the farmer prayed.

Gregor Clegane removed his greatsword from its obscene scabbard and exploded a bull with a solitary cleave. The Mountain then turned his gaze towards the farmer and his family. The Mountain’s Men cackled. No, no, no, no, no, no, no… There was nothing the farmer could do.

The Story

"After Tyrion Lannister is kidnapped by Catelyn Stark, Gregor is commanded by Tyrion's father, Lord Tywin Lannister, to raid the riverlands without banners, presenting himself as a common brigand."

The Scenario

This is the first of several scenarios dealing with the Lannister's initial invasion of the riverlands after the kidnapping of Tyrion Lannister. This involved creating some standard House Tully units that could be used in all these scenarios, as the northern houses had not yet ridden to Riverrun's aid. Like the Blackwood and Bracken units I designed for the Siege of Raventree, the Tully units support one another and get stronger when the enemy controls swords.

If you’re interested in playing a fully realized House Tully faction that has been balanced for competitive play, please try out House Tully from my friend Kullvox.

This is the first scenario I've posted where I'm utilizing additional faction tactics cards instead of the proxy commander system I've used in the past. While there were some benefits to the proxy commander system, I've always thought it was a little clunky. Creating these additional faction tactics cards allows me to simplify things by not adding too many obscure characters as commanders and still faithfully depict any event from the books.

This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
