Desolation of the Riverlands

Gregor Clegane stood back and watched the riverlanders scatter, like rats running from torchlight. The peasants' wailing made Gregor’s head throb, worse than usual. The flames became disorienting, blinding. A young man wept as he was pulled from his home. "My mother, father... they need me. Please."

The Mountain unsheathed his obscene greatsword and split the boy in two. "Give one half to the mother and the other the father." All of the noise stopped, save for the crackling of the burning buildings. Now Gregor could enjoy the flames.

The Story

"Gregor continues his raiding, causing enormous destruction and killing entire villages with impunity. For a time he unwittingly holds Arya Stark as a captive, and she witnesses many of his atrocities firsthand."

Gameplay & Strategy

This scenario introduces a fun new mechanic in which the Lannister forces attempt to burn down a village that the Stark force is defending. The Lannister player needs to take into account the cost of using valuable actions to set fire to the buildings, which may leave them exposed to one-sided attacks if the Stark player is playing aggressively. Luckily, the fires will draw the attention of the Stark player as they'll want to prevent the Lannister player from scoring any victory points.

The fine folks over at the Le Bar à Théo YouTube channel have posted an awesome battle report of this scenario:

This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
