Heavy-eyed Lannister soldiers awoke to the sound of war-horns. They stepped outside their tents to see many-colored banners waving in the wind: white sunburst on black, merman on blue-green, direwolf on ice-white, flayed man on pink. Roose Bolton had marched throughout the night to take Tywin Lannister’s army unaware. Fought between a river and a road, the Battle on the Green Fork was the first major clash between the lion and the wolf during the War of the Five Kings.

The Story
"When the westermen think the northmen are still a day's march away, the Stark army, commanded by Lord Roose Bolton, marches throughout the night in an effort to take the Lannister army by surprise, arriving before dawn."
Gameplay & Strategy
The Stark player will likely get to the objective tokens first because of their extended deployment zone, unless the Lannister player loads up on character attachments. While this is a nice early advantage for the Starks, the reduced speed from the tokens will hamper the Stark’s ability to outmaneuver their enemies.
The subterfuge and battlefield strategy will culminate in Round 5 when the Stark player will weigh a dangerous decision: ‘Fall Back' with your remaining units and possibly gain valuable victory points, or continuing fighting on the field of battle. Just as Roose strategically used non-Bolton northern soldiers more recklessly than his own men, sacrificing a few ranks of your Stark Sworn Swords early might bring you victory late.
