Assault on Dragonstone

The stone dragons watched from on high, teeth bared, mocking Loras Tyrell. Rubble rained down upon Tyrell bannermen as their battering ram crashed against Dragonstone’s main gate. The thick wooden doors scarcely moved. Loras paced nervously. Several men holding the back of the ram collapsed, whether from exhaustion, injury, or terror. “I will have this castle,” yelled the Knight of Flowers, “I will have it tonight!”

There was a flurry of movement on the battlements. Even over the immense tumult below, Loras could hear the Dragonstone warden scream “MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!” The defenders hoisted an enormous barrel and poured steaming black liquid onto the exposed soldiers below. A helmetless man ran wildly back towards the Tyrell line. Loras looked on as the man fell to his knees and tore at his melting flesh.

The Story

"With the development of ironmen raiding the Reach after the taking of the Shields, there is more pressure on the besiegers to end the conflict quickly to free up the Redwyne fleet. Ser Loras Tyrell of the Kingsguard successfully asks Queen Regent Cersei Lannister for the command, as he believes Paxter is taking too long. Cersei agrees, hoping that Loras will die in the battle."

Gameplay & Strategy

This scenario utilizes the rules of Honed & Ready, which is one of my favorite game modes. Honed & Ready suits Loras' attack on Dragonstone perfectly because it's a blitz siege, with Loras giving little thought to the loses he may incur from storming the castle so recklessly.

This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Limited’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
